Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing the daily operations of the center and meeting the needs of the community with caseworker services, but not limited to answering phones, food, emergency assistance, resources and referrals.
Management of volunteers are included in responsibility and special campaigns and appeals including Christmas, back to school and others.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities
Coordinate food pantry distributions including set up and break down for each event.
Responsible for receipt and storage of food.
Responsible for picking up food from assigned donation sites.
Maintain a clean and organized system of pantry, refrigerator, and freezer.
Assist with data entry for Social Services programs.
Assist with minor facility needs of property.
Assist Corps Officers with program setup and preparations.
Administer the program in accordance with existing policy and administrative decisions and procedures in a safe, engaging environment for The Salvation Army associates, guests, members, volunteers, partners, and vendors.
Develop appropriate relationships and boundaries with each listed.
Exhibit a practical knowledge of the program and its applicability to the needs of the community.
Administrative Needs
Monitor and maintain client records in keeping with The Salvation Army and HIPPA standards, including computer and written files.
Attending The Salvation Army meetings/trainings and participate in inter-agency provider meetings directed by supervisor.
Prepare timely statistical reports and maintain accurate documentation/data records for The Salvation Army and cooperative agencies, in keeping with any agreement made.
Organize maintain and stock food pantry, storage, and service areas for the efficient delivery of staff and volunteers.
Assist with the preparation of the assume responsibility for implementation and control of the budget if social service budget.
Pick-up donations
Organize, record, and appropriately distribute gifts n kind as they are available.
Follow mandated reporting procedures, as required by local law enforcement and/or protective agencies as well as The Salvation Army’s internal reporting process.
Adhere to The Salvation Army’s National Social Services Standards
Administrative duties and all other related duties as assigned.
Client services
Conduct thorough intake assessments with clients seeking help from The Salvation Army, to determine eligibility and best course of action with sensitivity and without discrimination.
Maintain confidential files for each client in accordance with The Salvation Army standards and HIPPA regulations.
Refer clients to other Salvation Army programs or other agencies an appropriate.
Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

Program Support – DHQ program support
Annual Performance Review – Head of Staff
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrate an understanding of The Salvation Army mission are required for this position.
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with some college course work in social services or experience in a social service setting.
Must be mature, and a responsible individual.
Ability to engage and diffuse crisis situations.
Must have data management and reporting skills.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
Must be in good physical health and mental health, capable of meeting the demand of the position.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Must possess good interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with leadership, coworkers, clients and community.
Ability to analyze problems and reach acceptable and workable solutions.
Knowledge of standardized but moderately complex procedures and operations.
