Job duties include:
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Making Deposits, Sales Tax, WC Reporting, Entering Sales, Processing Invoices, Filing, Reporting Certified Payroll, Bank Reconciliations, processing weekly payroll (Paychex), Answering phones (occasionally).
Skills required:
Operation of a desktop computer, keyboarding
Working knowledge of QuickBooks desktop or QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of bookkeeping tasks
Ability to navigate through a Chart of Accounts and understand the different types of accounts such as, assets, liabilities, income, expense, cost of goods sold.
Operation of office equipment such as 10-key calculator, copy, fax, and scanner machines.
Ability to work in Word, & Excel programs
Corresponding through email
Bi-Lingual helpful, but not required.
More about this position:
This position is ideal for someone who can work independently and set a sort of routine in place to accomplish the tasks that are done on a regular basis.
Having a clear understanding of the accounting cycle and the tasks that must be performed within a designated period, as well as being aware of filing dates for various reporting is necessary.
There are some administrative type tasks that are also part of this position such as ordering office supplies, issuing time cards, purging files at year-end etc.
Input is always welcomed on ways to improve or streamline procedures.
This position, although part-time for now, could develop into more hours in the future.
The hours and days can be flexible once training has been completed.
It is estimated to be about 25 hours weekly to start.
