Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
- Ensure guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
- Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
- Upsell menu items and promote specials
- Process payments and handle cash transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting them for the next guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
Skills:
- Food preparation: Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and ability to assist in the kitchen when needed
- Culinary: Familiarity with different types of cuisine and ability to describe menu items to customers
- Food safety: Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure guest safety
- Sales: Ability to effectively promote menu items, upsell, and increase sales revenue
- Time management: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tables, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Cash handling: Proficiency in handling cash transactions accurately and securely
- Bussing: Experience with clearing tables, cleaning dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Kitchen: Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and ability to assist with food preparation as needed
- Food service: Understanding of proper table service etiquette, including taking orders, delivering food, and providing exceptional customer service
