The Software Engineer position is located on Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) supporting operations onboard Dolus Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) and within the Unmanned Vessels Operations Center (UOC).
The ideal candidate will have the expertise to support existing applications update/operations and develop software as required for specific operations, both in a Classified and Unclassified enclave environment.
Design software systems for Unmanned Operations to meet security, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
Develop, design, architect full stack software applications for operations within the Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise System (CANES).
Design pipeline according to Navy standards and solutions
Actively participate in DevSecOps pipeline and drive adoption of containers, continuous integration, and automated build and deploy pipeline technologies.
Work hands-on with engineering team to deliver upon decided architecture
Document technical solutions and articulate these solutions to both team members and customers
Analyze current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Computer Science/Software Engineering from an accredited university
6+ years of experience managing and developing software within a DoD environment
Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.
S.
Citizen.
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain or reestablish this level of clearance.
Proficient in two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, PHP
Have experience in Linux (RHEL is preferable).
Have experience with containerization Technologies (Docker, OpenShift).
Familiarity with how to use debugger (Chrome Developer Tools is preferable).
Familiarity with Python for software debugging.
Experience with SQL and noSQL database development
Understanding of networking concepts with experience preferred
Understanding of public cloud concepts with experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with DoD civilians and U.
S.
Navy Senior officers.
Prior military experience is highly desired.
Work closely with engineers and technicians of various disciplines supporting leading edge technology.
