Vintage Akai X-1800SD Reel to Reel Deck w/ Extras - $580 (Camarillo)

This is easily the best listing I've had all year.
Akai X-1800SD "Super Deluxe" 7" Reel to Reel Deck with 8 Track Player/Recorder Includes the Deck,Walnut Cover and RARE Akai External Speakers Tested Thoroughly and Everything Works Perfectly Beautiful Condition with True Walnut Veneer Case and Cover The deck was originally designed to record your music to reel to reel with the added capability to take that recording and record it to a blank 8 track for use in your car.
I sold audio equipment in the 70's and never saw another make or model that did this.
I tested all functions of the reel to reel including test recordings.
I had to purchase a couple of 8 track tapes on Ebay to test that transport and it also worked great.
Switching from the different tracks worked perfectly with no crosstalk.
If you look at the photos you will see how clean the machine is.
I did not need to even clean the heads or pinch roller.
It either had very low use or was really taken care of.
The 2 hinged speaker covers on the deck still have the plastic protection covers on them! The only thing I could find was a little scuffing on the bottom of one of the external speakers.
I tested the external speakers which play along with the deck's internal speakers and sound great.
I was really on the fence as to whether to sell this one.
I'll take great care to package it a well as possible.

One for the deck and one for the external speakers.
