The Special Events Manager will work under the direction of the Chief Development Officer on various projects and related tasks for fundraising events, Angels & Amigos volunteer auxiliaries' activities/events, and community events benefiting Casa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families.
This position will manage the development, growth and implementation of Casa Pacifica’s fundraising events through corporate development and volunteer engagement.
As a member of the development team the Special Events Manager is responsible for fundraising that will play a key role in achieving budgetary and strategic goals as part of Casa Pacifica’s Development and Public Relations Department and is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and operations of fundraising events.
This position will achieve success by building and fostering community involvement, corporate relationships, a robust volunteer base as well as managing individual participants to raise awareness of the mission of Casa Pacifica.
The majority of performance is based on the development and engagement of donors (individuals/corporations), volunteer management and revenue generation through fundraising events.
Attending evening and weekend meetings, events and projects both on and off campus is required.
Also, working weekends and evenings in preparation for the Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food, and Brew Festival will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated by typical activities): Managing and overseeing all special events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors Oversight, planning and execution of all fundraising events including but not limited to the Wine, Food & Brew Festival, Spotlight on Style Fashion Show, Golf Tournament, children’s events and various on campus community events throughout the year.
Manages event related mailings, design of promotional materials auctions and sponsorships mailings and accounting procedure for all fundraising events.
Oversees the Special Events Coordinator and Special Events Intern(s) on all assigned duties and projects.
Works closely work and reviews vendors contracts including coordination of donated goods and services for special events.
Identifies market event strategies such as cold calling, active community networking, social media and board, donor and volunteer connections.
Creates event related content for website, marketing materials, press releases, eblasts and social media.
Responsibilities of project management to ensure timeliness of event activities.
Facilitates the communication and collaboration with volunteers and acts as liaison between the Angels Board/Auxiliary and the Development and Public Relations Department.
Works closely with Development Database Administrator, and finance department in tracking and reconciling events.
Conducts post-event follow up and action steps; ensures all post-event follow ups are completed in a timely manner (thank you letters/gifts and other correspondence).
Ensures recognition of board donor and volunteers for their service and contributions to the agency.
Partners with community groups on outside fundraising Assist community groups with outside fundraising for the agency by cultivating relationships and providing guidance for event, development, budgeting, promotion, and other issues as applicable.
Attends community events where a Casa Pacifica representative is needed.
Gives tours to community members who show an interest in Casa Pacifica.
Facilitate smooth integration of Casa Pacifica’s best practices, standards and guidelines.
Knowledge of AFP fundraising principles and practices.
Maintain relationships with key corporate sponsors including board donor volunteers.
Promotes involvement in all relevant Casa Pacifica activities and recognition opportunities.
Promote employee education sessions in local corporations in the community to generate awareness.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in a donor environment and use discretion in responding to inquiries.
And all other assignments as requested by the Director of Development and Public Relations.

Ability to learn Word Press for management of the Casa Pacifica Wine, Food & Brew Festival website.
Experience developing, measuring and reporting on strategies, impact, performance metrics, and budgets.
Familiarity with and connected within Ventura County business community.
Demonstrated skill in training and supervising support staff and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong knowledge of Word and Excel.
