A 6 doctor equine hospital in Somis, California is currently seeking an equine veterinary technician/assistant for the ICU department.
We are a close, family-style hospital hoping to expand our team as we continue to grow.
The following is a list of duties for the ICU position: providing medical treatments to all in house patients, monitoring critical patients, detailed record keeping, assisting with emergencies, performing in-house laboratory work, and surgical assistance in addition to maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital.
There is either part time (2-3 10hr shifts per week) or full time (four 10 hour shifts) available at this time.
The candidate must be able to work a combination of evenings, nights and/or weekends.
The right candidate is self-motivated with excellent communication and observational skills, as well as horse handling skills; they also must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
A minimum of 5 years horse experience, other than your own, is required; basic veterinary knowledge is recommended.
