Description
Te Ara is a 1973 Whitby 42 ketch that I have owned for 3 years.
The previous owner bought it in Canada and sailed it down the West Coast to San Francisco, where I then purchased the vessel and continued sailing south with the end goal of making it to Mexico and beyond.
It is coast guard certified and currently kept in Ventura harbor where my fiancé and I live aboard.
We are selling Te Ara because we plan to upgrade to a catamaran for the remainder of our cruise.
I have spent the last 3 years and ~$60,000 upgrading and rebuilding almost every system on this boat to make it blue water ready.
You are unlikely to find a used boat as well cared for and with more modern systems than this vessel.
Data on the Whitby 42 line of boats can be found here: https://sailboatdata.
