Many years ago, when I was 13 years old, the big Christmas gift for the family was this same model of boat.
I spent the next few summers sailing and fishing on a local Seattle area lake, captain for my younger siblings, adventuring through a magical portion of my childhood.
It shaped my life, in all ways good, and continues to.
It developed my independence.
leadership, and love for being on the water.
This George O'Day designed boat is super-clean and ready to sail.
I picked her up this last year on a reminiscent lark, but I also have a full-size sailboat in the harbor with many ongoing projects and so this vessel needs a new home where she will be sailed and appreciated.
She is wonderfully kept, with everything in perfect working condition.
A new rudder/tiller assembly is included, purchased this summer.
She carries a single lateen-rigged sail, in very good condition.
A storage dolly (with wheels) and boat cover by SLO Sail & Canvas are included.
She is easily transported in the bed of my pickup (she extends beyond the bed, but straps in well.
(My dad used to put ours in the family van with the seats removed.
) Others transport these boats on cartop racks.
This boat is a close relative of the Snark, Super-Snark and Sunflower sailboats, sharing much of the rigging pieces, though with a longer hull and much larger sail area (85 sqft.
).
The hull is foam-filled thermoplastic.
Very rugged and completely unsinkable.
You could cut her into five (or 85) pieces and each of them would float.

It is my wish that there is a family with a growing girl or boy who will appreciate the simple pleasure of sailing a simply-rigged boat that is quick, responsive and safe.
Or that an older sailor with access to a lake or other protected waters will enjoy the magical art of filling the sail, enjoying the finer and simpler aspects of living in tune with wind and water.
