JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver exceptionally high quality service to VCCUs internal and external members and abide by all service standards and tenets of VCCUs Core Values.
A key element of this service is to provide members and prospective members the full range of products and services offered by VCCU.
This employee is expected to maintain a professional comportment at all times and comply with all Credit Union policies and procedures, including Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner; greets and assists members; responds to member inquiries promptly, anticipates future needs, and ensures outstanding member service is consistently delivered.
Performs duties related to opening new accounts and establishing new memberships.
Opens all types of share accounts, including Checking, Certificates, and Money Market Savings.
Maintains thorough understanding of related documentation and procedures for all New Accounts functions, including Business Accounts, IRAs, Living Trusts, vesting changes and/or statements related to fraud, check orders (new and reorders), changes of addresses/phone numbers.
Performs all duties related to originating and funding consumer loans and business loans.
Interviews loan applicants, processes consumer loans on lending system, follows up on approved or pending loans, collects stipulations required for funding, prepares and signs members to consumer loan documents, and funds consumer loans.
Assesses new account and loan applications for fraud detection.
Refers Real Estate/HELOC applicants to the Mortgage department.
Quotes interest rates and terms; may submit applications to Real Estate Loan Department, as assigned.
Current NMLS registration required.
Performs all teller functions as needed; balances currency, coin, and checks at end of shift to totals generated by system.
Maintains thorough knowledge of credit union products and services as assessed by observation and member shops and by annual product knowledge assessment.
Acts as a sales and service representative for the Credit Union.
Proactively seeks opportunities to sell and cross-sell Credit Unions products and services to new and existing members; provides clear and concise information about specific products and services designed to improve their financial well-being.
Achieves all sales goals as assigned.
Supports business development by participating in activities (e.
g.
, benefit fairs) with Select Employer Groups and community functions, as assigned.
Adheres to all teller and check cashing procedures and deposit limits as outlined in the Authority Limits for this position.
Performs Quality Control of signature cards as assigned.
May act as a back up to branch receptionist
Complies with all applicable branch policies and procedures such as accepting negotiable items, scanning checks, buying and selling cash from and to CDMs/TCRs or other Branch Reps/Vault Teller, opening/closing procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTAIN A FIDELITY BOND
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two years experience in financial services; 6-12 months of previous sales experience preferred
Ability to be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System
Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office Suite, and other window applications.
Experience with Episys preferred.
