Job Overview:
An integral member of the Sales Operations Team, the Senior Sales Operations Analyst will play the lead role in ensuring that the product demand forecasts are aligned with GSMS’ sales and operational strategies and will support a range of analytical support across the Sales Operations team.
This role is intended to deliver data-driven insights and support sales performance through thoughtful analyses, forecasting, and cadenced reporting.
The Senior Sales Operations Analyst will routinely perform data gathering and distillation, demand forecasting, business reporting, and sales insights development.
The position will require cross-functional coordination across several groups, with an emphasis on partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support the S&OP process and drive alignment.
This individual must be comfortable with communicating across various levels within an organization, as they will act as the subject matter expert for the company’s demand plan and sales data insights.
These functions are critical to the decision-making process that ultimately aligns capital and resources to anticipate and fulfill our customers’ needs.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and deliver the company’s demand plan with high accuracy each month to support business and supply planning activities.
Establish and maintain forecast performance measurement and evaluation such as forecast accuracy & bias as well as other sales-related KPIs.
Maintain, summarize and report on key drivers behind the monthly demand plan changes.
Manage, analyze & report on customer inventory positions.
Develop and present compelling data-driven analyses that support our ability to grow market share.
Identify data issues and proactively drive cleanup activities to help maintain reporting integrity.
Work with Sales Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to identify product or market trends, understand implications of activities and events and play a key role in supporting the company’s service level and inventory strategies with the supply chain team.
Support Sales Operations and other teams as designated with necessary cadenced and ad-hoc analyses, intended to drive continuous improvement and opportunity identification/exploration activities.
Manage and coordinate basic projects and tasks, including creating project plans, conducting status updates, and taking meeting notes to follow up on assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant demand planning experience, plus analytics &/or sales support experience
Mastery-level Excel skills including knowledge of advanced functions such as lookups, conditional programming (i.
e.
, if/then), data validation (e.
g.
, data lists), formatting, and ability to make forms and automated tools that can be used by others in a sales execution environment.
Strong demand planning experience, with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of complex forecasting concepts to manage demand variability, seasonal consumption, and assumption-based models
Proven ability to learn quickly and fluently.
Demonstrated a high degree of initiative and ability to work collaboratively.
