The Director, Insights & Analytics leads a team of three key functions inside Patagonia: Research, Customer Insights & Analytics, and Digital Analytics.
This role is responsible for managing the resources (people, time, budget) to ensure I&A is supporting the areas of focus for all go to market teams: Merchandising/product design, Inventory/Planning, DTC & wholesales teams, Brand marketing and demand generation teams.
You are responsible for guiding the work to deliver value to Patagonia through research and analytics while developing talent to meet the company’s needs.
What You’ll Do
Lead the Insights & Analytics team to deliver valuable findings that inform and influence Patagonia company priorities, initiatives, and strategic goals
Lead the strategic approach for both consumer research and insights work, partnering with the team and cross functional leaders
Partner with cross-functional teams to make data informed decisions that improve the Patagonia experience
Develop and share a deep understanding of Patagonia’s customers; be a voice of the customer across Patagonia through building strong cross-functional relationships
Lead analytic work with CRM lead to drive the framework for an effective CRM program
Guide the I&A team to deliver outputs (e.
g.
presentations, reports, dashboards) that drive increased engagement, activism, retention, and loyalty across Patagonia’s lines of business
Lead a team of research and analytics professionals with clear focus on talent development and advancing collaboration across team verticals, leading to more robust and analytically advanced (statistical, data science, etc.
) ways of answering key business questions
Embed and operationalize I&A team findings throughout the organization, guiding leaders and stakeholders to act on the work the team produces
Ensure the team in establishing a validated, confident source of truth for customer and digital data
Manage and deploy research and analytics budget
Manage tools and enhancements roadmap for analytics and insights work with Digital teams
Advise the organization as an internal expert on new and existing research and analytics methodologies
Who You Are
You are extremely analytical and experienced in using various methods and approaches to solve problems
You are a strong communicator and can clearly articulate complex ideas in simple terms to people with varying technical abilities through presentations, meetings, project plans, analyses, and other media
You have experience coaching and managing others and have a strong desire to coach and build teams
You are skilled at dealing with ambiguity, able to learn new skills on the fly, and are receptive to coaching and feedback from others
You have a bias toward action and know when to act even if you don’t have all the answers yet
You have high empathy to see the world through the customers' eyes, and a curiosity to do so
Experience You Bring
10+ years’ experience in an insights, analytics, marketing, or related role
5+ years’ experience understanding and improving the customer experience in a retail, digital, and/or omnichannel B2C environment
5+ years’ experience managing and leading teams to deliver high-quality insights, analytics, and research outputs
3+ years of experience in CRM, Loyalty and Martech tools a plus
Experience using insights and research to drive decision-making at the senior leadership level
Working knowledge of data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, R, Alteryx, Tableau, and/or SPSS a plus
Ability to remain independent and effectively present complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
MBA preferable
Hiring Range: $155,000 - $175,000.
00
Pay range: $136,800.
00- $250,000.

At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys.
Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
