*Position Overview:* We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Engineer to join our team and oversee all engineering aspects of our vertically integrated medical device business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, driving product development initiatives, and ensuring the seamless integration of engineering processes across all stages of the product lifecycle.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Team Leadership:* Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Mentor and develop team members to maximize their potential and drive excellence in performance.
* *Product Development:* Lead the design and development of new medical devices, from concept generation through to commercialization.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* *Manufacturing: *Create manufacturing processes and the related quality system documentation.
Coordinate with the Production Manager to update and improve the processes.
* *Process Optimization:* Continuously evaluate and optimize engineering processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Implement best practices and methodologies to streamline workflows and drive continuous improvement.
* *Quality Assurance:* Collaborate closely with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.
g.
, FDA, ISO).
Champion a culture of quality throughout the organization and drive adherence to established quality management systems.
* *Supplier Identification:* Work with the Supply Chain Manager to establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and services required for product development and manufacturing.
* *Technology Innovation:* Stay abreast of advancements in medical device technology and industry trends.
Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation, driving the development of next-generation products and technologies.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Experience in medical device engineering, with record of successfully bringing products to market.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
* In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, design methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and electronic document control systems.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.
g.
, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and electrical design tools (e.
g.
, Altium Designer, OrCAD).
* Good understanding of design control processes, regulatory requirements (e.
g.
, FDA, CE), and quality management systems (e.
g.
, ISO 13485
