Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Manager - Aerospace.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $116437.

What you’ll do: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager supports and leads the manufacturing processes responsible for producing Aerospace and Space quality products including ruggedized connectors, hold down release mechanisms, cable assemblies and system assemblies.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager performs engineering and manufacturing assignments focusing on process improvements related to subassembly, assembly, and testing.
This position is designed to focus on direct reports with at less than five (5) years of continuous work experience to gain the knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary to prepare successful individuals to take on roles of increasing responsibility within the organization.
This position must report on-site M-F at our Camarillo, California manufacturing facility.
Relocation is available for candidates currently residing in the USA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A.
Supervise manufacturing engineers who are responsible for the assembly and test processes of products B.
Focuses on managerial concerns of projects such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation.
Conduct project reviews as needed to ensure acceptability and manufacturability of product.
C.
Develop manufacturing engineers and their careers D.
Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to develop and deploy manufacturing strategies to support and improve processes.
E.
Plan, organize and direct weekly technical and non-technical discussions.
F.
Assure that manufacturing practices are being followed per local procedures and Eaton policy.
G.
Maintain close liaison with the engineering function during the development of new products.
Provide ongoing support to resolve design related production problems and non-conformance to product specifications.
H.
Utilize problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why’s, DMAIC) to identity root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
I.
Identify and execute cost out initiatives through productivity improvements.
Review customer returned units in lieu with Quality to identify root cause of the failure and if necessary implement permanent corrective action(s).
K.
Maintain close liaison with the Sales and Marketing function and end customers to review new business opportunities and support existing products, and also, as part of the Contract Review process L.
Lead Eaton’s continuous improvement initiatives such as Rapid Improvement Events, Standard Work Events, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S+.
M.
Manage capital projects and initiatives.
N.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least five (5) years of management experience in the design, process, and manufacturing of products.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications: • MS degree in business or engineering.
• Broad knowledge of the Aerospace industry.
• Previous experience supervising / motivating people and subordinates, while maintain organizational harmony and meeting deadlines.
• Experienced in Aerospace New Product Development (NPD) programs • Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites and customers globally.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
• Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Six Sigma methodology, Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and lean manufacturing methods.
• 3D CAD experience, Solid Works preferred.
• Familiarity with connectors, cables, and Sep-nuts products design with knowledge of manufacturing/assembly techniques, processing, and equipment.
