What is your day to day?
Collaborate with clients, event producers, and other stakeholders to understand lighting requirements for productions or events.
Design lighting layouts, considering safety standards, artistic direction, and technical specifications.
Install and set up lighting equipment, such as fixtures, control panels, dimmers, and cables.
Program and operate lighting control consoles to create desired lighting effects and transitions during performances or events.
Focus and adjust lights to achieve proper intensity, color, and dispersion, ensuring maximum visibility and aesthetic appeal.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to lighting equipment, including electrical faults, connectivity problems, or malfunctions.
Maintain an inventory of lighting fixtures, lamps, and related equipment, ensuring proper storage, regular maintenance, and timely replacements.
Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents, electrical hazards, or fire risks.
Stay updated with emerging lighting technologies, equipment advancements, and industry trends.
Train and supervise assistant technicians or crew members as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role in a theater, entertainment venue, event production, or related industry.
Strong understanding of various lighting techniques, equipment, and control systems.
Proficiency in operating lighting consoles, such as ETC EOS, GrandMA, or Avolites.
Familiarity with lighting design software, such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or WYSIWYG.
Knowledge of electrical circuits, power distribution, and safety standards.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for quick resolutions during live productions or events.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing requirements or timelines.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with diverse groups of professionals and stakeholders.
Physical stamina and flexibility to work in different locations, lift and carry heavy equipment, and work at heights if required.
Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by production schedules or event demands.
