Minimal Qualifications:
5+ years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience/Journeyman required.
3 + years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience required.
CSLB license preferred but not required.
Licenses for plumbing, mechanical, and gas an asset.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications (structural, architectural, civil, plumbing, and cut sheets).
Must be organized and maintain a clean work site.
Able to work with a vast range of materials and know the proper installation of products listed below but not limited to:
PVC DWV sch 40.
CPVC sch 40 & 80.
PEX.
Uponor.
Carriers for WC, EWC, Lav, and urinals.
Hangers and supports Roof drains.
Water heaters.
Boilers.
Set all types of fixtures for the finish.
Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new construction setting.
Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
Positive attitude.
Duties:
Install new services on new houses.
Locates and marks the position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools.
Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
Install plumbing finishing and equipment as per plans.
Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work required and sequence of installations.
Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from the installation of pipe.
Calculate material take-off.
Ordering materials as need be.
Soldering of 2 1/2" + pipe.
