The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a leader that intrinsically understands and embodies the Shelter Social Club mission to create unique experiences while fostering, and standardizing, this culture in your team.
As the F&B supervisor, front of line representative, you will lead by example, ensuring our mission and values resonate throughout the team and resonate with our clientele.
It is a conscientious, hospitality-driven F&B role; centered around enthusiastically and efficiently running daily operations, training and managing staff, and ensuring delightful guest experiences that align with SSC brand guidelines.
This role is responsible for the daily supervision of the operations of Chief's Peak as well as F & B ordering, inventory control, and system updates (POS, PMS, Whistle Upsell) across all Shelter Social Club properties.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a genuine love for engaging with guests and creating a warm guest experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Making sure guests receive a consistent guest experience from all of the staff.
Guests are seen, engaged with throughout their visit, and having an extraordinary time from the moment they arrive until it's time to say goodbye.
* Creating and maintaining a warm friendly cozy atmosphere, providing genuine and warm service that turns first-time guests into regulars.
* Learning our steps of service, products, menu and systems inside and out.
* Overseeing the function of all food and beverage in the hotel to ensure an excellent guest experience and maximize revenue and profits to support overall hotel operations.
* Handling any guest concerns quickly and professionally.
* Balancing a combination of operational administrative and team responsibilities throughout each shift; maximizing revenue by communicating regularly with the executive team to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotions.
* Training for all food & beverage team members around meu, palate development, and ensuring food and beverage quality steps of service and cleanliness are strictly adhered to.
* Refining staff processes and procedures to delight guests and create a team-focused productive work environment for all.
* Working with the Director of Operations to implement menu changes and make recommendations on menu items based on feedback and sales data to enrich the guest experience and ensure profitability.
* Maintain open lines of communication about menu and programming in a timely manner with all Chief's Peak and Ojai Rancho Inn employees and Front Desk teams at the Hummingbird Inn, Capri Hotel, and Alamo Motel.
* Work with the Director of Operations and F & B and the Hospitality & Event Manager on programming for the bar and support and help oversee such events.
* Maintain cleanliness and defined aesthetic of Shelter Social Club per the Brand Guidelines - ensuring brand guidelines are met and kept through all F & B staff, music is SSC approved playlists and the space should be curated for thoughtful intentionality for guest experience and high attention to detail.
* Complete F&B inventory weekly for all SSC locations and maintain products and supplies, maintaining the menu and avoiding waste or shortages.
* Update and maintain all POS-platforms selling F&B-products for the Ojai Rancho Inn, Alamo Motel, Hummingbird Inn, and the Capri Hotel.
* Scheduling Chief's Peak shifts and coordinating or providing coverage to ensure service coverage.
* Creation and curation of seasonal cocktail menus twice annually and accompanying rollout and training of all staff.
* Assisting with properly representing the bar by providing photos and videos during service for use on social media accounts.
* Submit weekly expense reports, and invoices to accounting.
* Submit sales & inventory reports to the executive team.
* Hold monthly staff meetings to lead your team, go over procedures and do tastings together.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers * Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow-up and execution.
* Other languages, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.
* Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
* Technologically sound with Apple and Google applications.
* Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
* Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
* Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
* Food Handler card required per CA law.
* RBS bartender certification PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: * Independent self-starter * Exceptional work ethic * Exceptional attention to detail * Superb time management skills * Optimism and energy for the brand and it's future * An open and collaborative nature * Strong team player * Demonstrate ability to work with all levels of employees and management * Willingness to give assistance to co-workers WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

* Must be physically able to wipe down surfaces, reach, twist, bend, and pick up debris from the floor or items from storage spaces.
