This is an Ethiopian Lentil FEASTING BOWL or Dish.
Very old.
Hand carved.
The item consists of two separate pieces - the bowl (top) and the stand (bottom).
The bottom is carved from ONE piece of wood.
Truly amazing workmanship.
The bowl measures about 32in in diameter and with the stand is about 24in high.
