This is a Microtherm Heat Director made by Raytheon in the 1930s, Model CMD4.
Microwave Heat before Microwave Ovens.
Back in its day, it was used by physicians to apply intense heat to patient's aching tissues.
It was considered a sophisticated microwave gadget used in the general practitioner's office, one of many new fangled contraptions that “progressive” MDs jumped on quickly.
