Howard Miller Triple Chime Hanging Grandfather Wall Clock
Discontinued Model, but retailed for $1,220
This beautiful vintage clock was originally purchased and owned by my grandparents, until my grandma passed away a few months ago at 98.
This is one of the few things she held onto as she moved into assisted living, and obviously something she cherished.
For as long as I can remember, every time I went to my grandparents’ house, she’d ask me to wind the clock for her.
At some point it just became the first thing I’d do when I walked through the front door.
Having said all that, my memories are what I want to hold on to, so I’m hoping to find someone who will cherish this clock like my grandma did.
The clock was serviced by Labbee’s Clock Repair in February of 2012, and I have the work order showing the $478.
87 was for “repairs, including replacement of the movement with a new identical model (included in the pictures).
The clock worked when we pulled it down to put in storage, so I’m under the impression that it still should be in working order, but I’m selling “as is” in case it needs a basic service or balancing.
The magnet to hold the door shut has a strip of tape over it, so I’m guessing the tape could be removed and simply glued back down, but the closed door covers the tape so you can’t see it and the magnet holds the door shut.
The glass on the door and both sides is free of cracks, and allows for an easy view of the movement and pendulum at work.
The back has a wood door that allows for easy access to reach the movement mechanism.
The key is still with the clock, so I’m passing over the winding duties to the person who buys this lovely clock.
Since I don’t know much about clocks, here are the details I was able to find on the clock itself, the work order from the repair shop, and online.
I believe this info to be correct, but please do your own research as you feel necessary.
