The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972.
RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve.
The Lighthouse for Women & Children provides a complete continuum of care specifically tailored to the needs of homeless women and women with children by offering shelter, intervention, substance abuse recovery, case management, education, life skills development, vocational training, employment and transitional housing.
Summary
The Guest Services Associate provides resources and encouragement to the Lighthouse clients/guests as they strive to overcome the challenges that face them daily.
Working various shifts, maintain the order and safety of the clients and facilities.
This is a regular full-time,
non-exempt position located in Oxnard, CA and reports to the Program Manager.
Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.
This position is overtime eligible according to applicable guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all meals and snacks (cook/prepare and layout meals/snacks and oversee clean up afterwards).
Search all client bags, boxes, purses, suitcases, etc.
upon arrival.
Log and track client’s medication intake.
Read each current client’s file and sign off at the beginning of shift.
Summarize daily contact in each clients file at end of shift.
Participate in shift change meetings.
Perform a walkthrough of the facility at least once every 30 minutes.

and inter-office mail and ensure distribution to the right people.
Oversee house duties; ensure clients carry out duties correctly.
Welcome guest speakers and ensure clients assemble for classes on time.
Respond to various client’s needs/questions as they arise.
Keep all statistics up to date on the check off sheet as well as in MissionTracker
Read and keep up with the daily log at the beginning and throughout each shift.
Perform intakes as needed.
Communicate any and all information relating to clients and programs via email to your supervisor as well as in the daily log.
Test for drug and alcohol use as needed.
Room & bed searches as needed with a second staff person.
Check phone messages as often as possible – no less than every hour.
Supervise all Student Workers, Volunteers, and Vocational placements as needed.
Keep up to date on Safety issues and training.
Check e-mail throughout your shift.

Clean staff offices vacuuming, mopping and dusting as needed.
Check and restock supplies:
If we have less than a week’s supply of anything add it to the supply list, the daily log and email the Administrative Services Coordinator
Fill up chemical bottles as needed.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with other house duties as needed.
Other duties and/or special projects as assigned by Lighthouse Management.
A "Servant Leader" in actual everyday situations in alignment with RMA’s Lead Like Jesus commitment and Mission/Vision/Values.
Supervisory Responsibilities
There are no employees reporting to this position.
Assistance with managing volunteers, interns and vocational placements.
Qualifications
1-2 years or more of experience in urban and/or homeless related ministries/positions.
A solid Bible based Christian faith, compatible with RMA’s Statement of Faith and an active member of an Evangelical church.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful.
Skills
Must be able to effectively multi-task.
Must be able to love, encourage and guide clients.
Must be an effective team player.
Must have good verbal & written communication skills.
A teachable spirit and committed to team participation.
Software
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite; MissionTracker, ADP Workforce Now.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Equipment
Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and printers
Work Environment
This position will function to a large degree in a residential program environment.
As a part of normal duties this position will be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present.
Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.
