The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972.
RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve.
The Lighthouse for Women & Children provides a complete continuum of care specifically tailored to the needs of homeless women and women with children by offering shelter, intervention, substance abuse recovery, case management, education, life skills development, vocational training, employment and transitional housing.
Summary The Operations Coordinator/Driver assists the Lighthouse Director by overseeing all facility physical property operations including facility use, maintenance and safety needs, and assisting with special projects.
In addition, they serve as transportation support to The Lighthouse, driving participants to appointments when necessary.
This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, CA and reports to the Director of the Lighthouse Women and Children’s Services.
Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and includes benefits.
This position is overtime eligible and includes benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create systems and processes that maintain and improve the condition and appearance of all Lighthouse properties (Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing residential buildings and Life Recovery Program buildings) as well as improving the efficiency and effectiveness of facility operations.
Create and manage systems for processing and distributing donations that are brought to the various Lighthouse properties.
Assure safety policies, procedures and trainings are in compliance and facility inspections are completed and acted upon.
Oversee proper supply and operation of office and program equipment; order, stock, and distribute as needed.
Oversee facilities maintenance including coordinating with Operations department and outside vendors to ensure that the facility, vehicle fleet and equipment are well maintained and operating according to standards.
Support Lighthouse Participants and the case management team by transporting Participants to outside appointments when necessary.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Foster and encourage teamwork across The Lighthouse ministries.
Strive for continuous improvement in typing, computer skills, and communication.
Comply with and promote the RMA safety program.
Attend and participate in team meetings.
Perform other related duties and projects assigned by the Lighthouse Director.
A "Servant Leader" in actual everyday situations in alignment with RMA’s Lead Like Jesus commitment and Mission/Vision/Values.
Promote RMA Safety Program and in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Smith Systems driving policies and procedures; model safe work practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities There are no employees reporting to this position.
Qualifications Committed Christian, in agreement with RMA’s Statement of Faith and active in a local church.
High-school diploma or GED.
Previous experience in office/administrative environment and/or facility management preferred.
Valid California driver’s license and insurable under RMA.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
Skills Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze complex situations and recommend appropriate action.
Well organized and ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple interruptions.
Excellent customer service, patient with a strong hospitality focus and ability to care for others.
Exceptional ability to take initiative, problem-solve and respond to a variety of issues and people.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong prioritization and multi-tasking abilities to effectively manage workflow.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues.
Ability to work well independently and within a team.
Software Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and Mission Tracker.
Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 60 Lbs.

Equipment Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers and printers.
Work Environment This position will function to a large degree in a residential program environment as well as an emergency shelter environment.
As a part of normal duties, this position will be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present.
Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.
