Fuel Truck Driver/System Operator Overview: Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons in order to transport Aviation Fuel to and from specified destinations.
Primary Responsibilities: Drives truck into position to load at filing rack.
Drives truck to customer premises.
Opens valves or starts pumps to fill tank.
Reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded.
Connects hose to tank and opens valves.
Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer.
Attaches ground wire to truck.
Accomplishes necessary task stated in NSB Contract for fuel division.
Climbs fuel storage tanks to take measurements of holding tank.
Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
Loads and unloads trucks, vans, or automobiles and Aircarft Obeys traffic laws, and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
Performs emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
Uses and maintains the tools and equipment found on commercial vehicles, such as weighing and measuring devices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Education and/or Experience: 1 years of dump truck experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Must have previous experience or training operating this type of equipment.
Additional experience operating multiple types of equipment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of the equipment around ground personnel.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to read, comprehends, and composes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License with CDL certification.
Must have and maintain an Airbrakes, Hazmat and Tanker CDL endorsement.
TSA Security Clearance: National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Required: Must have a current US Government NACI or be able to successfully complete a Nationa Agency Check with Inquiries.
Must also be able to maintain a NACI.
