Hi there! I'm sharpening my skills in basic horse training and groundwork and looking for folks with hard-to-catch horses to start with.
After recently having my mustang mare put to sleep, I want to work with more horses and people to build trusting, happy, productive relationships.
I've been around horses and full size farm livestock since I was born and involved in more riding, basic groundwork and both natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement training in the last 5 years.
In 2022 I completed a 14-week program in positive reinforcement and continue to learn through trainers such as Ryan Rose, Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt, Mark Navid, and others.
My first foray into horse training 20 yrs ago started with a hard-to-catch Quarter horse mare that was bound for slaughter because she was so difficult and at 18 yrs old, deemed hopeless for retraining.
After gaining her trust and building a relationship so that she would come galloping across 40 acres of woodland pasture to greet me, she became a willing and pleasant riding partner for many years that followed.
I would love to work with more horses in this capacity so am actively seeking folks in the Camarillo, Somis, Oxnard, Ventura and surrounding areas that need a little help, but not necessarily a full professional trainer.
Give me a text or email and let's chat!
