*POSITION SUMMARY*
The Dining Services Director is responsible directing and creating a quality dining experience for the residents of Parsons Group.
The Director is responsible for ensuring that the nutritional needs of the residents are properly addressed.
The Dining Services Director is equally accountable for the consistency and quality of dining service experience.
These responsibilities are pursued while monitoring the food budget and providing a safe and clean work environment.
*PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Food Service: * Plan and create a corporate menu program, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Standardize recipes and test products in meal service.
Including items for special diets.
* Ensure proper plating and presentation for all meals including garnish, delivery and presentation.
* Assist teams in creating ideas for snacks for activities, marketing, and special events.
* Provide training and or training materials to teams so they serve meals to residents in a professional and courteous manner.
* Monitor the quality and consistency of the food and implement changes to ensure quality according to established standards.
* Interact with residents and team members to monitor resident satisfaction or complaints about dining service.
* Other duties as required by business needs.
Budget: * Support Dining Service Supervisors in meeting budget requirements.
Initiate corrective action when Dining Services costs deviate from the budget.
* Ensure weekly expense records and inventory control using approved methods.
* Review monthly inventory of food and supply items.
* Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases according to established procedures.
Safety: * Follow health department guidelines and company standards in all aspects of food handling, preparation and storage, as well as kitchen cleanliness.
* Maintain food according to required temperature, procedures, labeling, and storage.
* Monitor Food Safety logs, while onsite, observe kitchen and make sure best practices are being maintained, clean cooking area; including but not limited to worktable surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills, food storage areas, exhaust hood, and kitchen equipment per kitchen schedule.
Human Resources: * Interview, hire, on-board, train, supervise, discipline, and promote kitchen staff in coordination with Executive Director.
* Review schedules and staffing at each community monthly to ensure high levels of resident satisfaction.
* Select, schedule, and conduct orientation and in-service educational programs for personnel.
* Attend education and training sessions to improve knowledge and skills as Dining Services Director Administration: * Prepare and submit monthly business plan.
Including objectives and supporting action items which includes a “by when”.
* Other projects as assigned.
_Knowledge, Skills & Abilities_ * Employee must speak, understand and write fluently in English.
* Employee must have a neat and clean appearance and business professional dress at all times.
* Employee must be familiar with employment practices as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
* Employee is required to work their assigned schedule.
* Maintain good company relations by delivering prompt, warm and courteous service in a manner consistent with our philosophy.
Provide overall support which assists communities in resident and employee management and retention.
* Computer literate with proficiency in a variety of software applications, including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite * Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Basic understanding of accounting principles * Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to effectively build and maintain positive client and colleague relationships.
* Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
* Capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail * Ability to make independent decisions while building consensus and support of necessary stakeholders.
_Physical Requirements_ Some physical demands of the job may include sitting, walking, standing, lifting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, carrying, and squatting intermittently throughout the day.
Employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.
