Primetime uses technologically advanced farming practices, combined with operating state-of-the-art packing facilities, to ensure delivery of the safest and best-tasting produce in the marketplace.
We’re hiring a full-time, year-round Assistant Grower to join our team in Ventura County.
You will support the Farm Manager in all aspects of growing our pepper crops including the coordination of planting, harvest, irrigation, and all crop inputs.
You will be focused on crop health, quality and harvest timing.
This role will give you the ability to grow your knowledge of specialty crop management and improve your farm management skills with close guidance from experts in the industry.

Your Main Focus Areas Assist the Farm Manager in leading and directing employees and contract laborers in the field Assist in the planting, growing, and harvesting of 1,100 acres of pepper crops Assist with field scouting, fertigation, and overseeing crop protection application Coordinate with internal and external resources on fertilizer and crop inputs Monitor moisture levels and assist with irrigation Ensure compliance to food safety handling procedures, OSHA, and GAP Assist with on-farm crop trials Assist in all other aspects of the growing operations This role if a good fit for you if you bring: Knowledge of farming practice; specialty crops preferred Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Crop Health, or related field PCA (Pest Control Advisor) preferred, or willingness to obtain A strong work ethic and the desire to continuous learn The ability to solve in-the-moment problems and are able to quickly reprioritize what needs to be done A valid driver’s license and are able to maintain a good driving record at all times The ability to work extended hours during peak season
