The Executive Director of Omnichannel and Emerging Technology is a pivotal role at Amgen responsible for leading our omnichannel strategy, execution and optimization and the integration of emerging technologies across our digital and physical touchpoints.
This role requires a visionary leader who can blend biotechnology insights with advanced digital marketing strategies & tactics to enhance patient engagement, optimize customer journeys, and drive our mission forward in alignment with company goals.
This role requires an ability to partner with and influence Amgen’s commercial and medical Technology and Analytics leaders, as well as all business units and Regions, to develop and execute rigorously validated and highly strategic capability improvements to ensure Amgen delivers against commercial objectives and maintains relevance with customers through an optimal platforms’ infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include: Omnichannel Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive omnichannel strategy that integrates digital and physical channels to provide a seamless customer experience.
Emerging Technology Collaboration and Integration with DTI: Collaborate with DTI to Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies (e.
g.
, AI, VR/AR, blockchain) that can enhance our marketing efforts, improve patient engagement, and streamline operations.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales, Medical, Data & Analytics, R&D, and external partners, to align digital initiatives with business objectives, integrate capabilities into the company’s value chain, and ensure the successful execution of omnichannel and technology initiatives.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analytics to inform strategy, measure performance across channels, and make evidence-based decisions to drive continuous improvement.
Innovation and Research: Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, recommending innovative solutions that align with our strategic goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating the vision, strategy, and impact of omnichannel and technology initiatives.
Capability Liaison & Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of digital trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the biotechnology and healthcare industries, positioning the company as a leader in digital innovation.

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree & 6 years of digital marketing or omnichannel strategy experience OR Master’s degree & 10 years of digital marketing or omnichannel strategy experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of digital marketing or omnichannel strategy experience AND 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in systems, Emerging Technology, Decision Sciences, Marketing, Business, Biotechnology, or a related field.
An MBA or advanced degree is preferred 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, omnichannel strategy development and execution, or a related field, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry Experience integrating emerging technologies into marketing strategies and operations Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams Analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills Understanding of the biotechnology or healthcare sector, with a patient-centric approach Agile SAFe Delivery Model: We are using an Agile SAFe delivery model, and this leadership role will drive the adoption for the SAFe transformation together with the DTI lead to drive a higher level of productivity and value.
Global Strategy Development: Ability to develop and execute global strategies that integrate digital and physical customer experiences across multiple markets and cultural contexts.
Experience in leading global teams and managing international projects is preferred.
Transformation and Change Management: Experience in leading organizational transformation initiatives, driving change, adopting new technologies, and fostering a culture of innovation.
