In this job, you’ll partner with clients and contractors to ensure Edison receives the highest value from it’s over $4.
5 Billion in annual spend.
It’s challenging but rewarding work.
Your interpersonal and analytical skills will be fully exercised as you manage a variety of spend categories with a focus on achieving the best value for our rate-payers and our shareholders through cost savings, compliance and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities include conducting RFPs, performing spend analysis, monitoring contractor performance, participating in cross functional project teams and advising clients on their business strategies.
You will be joining a sincerely appreciated procurement team supporting clients including Transmission & Distribution, Vegetation Management, Transportation Services, Environmental Compliance, Power Generation, Design & Planning and Inspections.
This role provides you with abundant opportunities to learn and contribute to a wide variety of projects in areas ranging from Goat Grazing for managing vegetation to cutting edge UAS Aerial Vehicles for inspecting infrastructure.
Some category strategies you may lead include: Edson’s vehicle fleet (4,000+ vehicles), maintenance (30+ garages), AirOps (Helicopters and drones) Wildfire Mitigation - Vegetation Management and Fire Watch services Powerplant / Outage Maintenance Contracted Crane Services Hydroelectric Turbine Repair Emergency Environmental Response Biologists / Archeologists LiDAR and Satellite inspections While your hybrid desk location will be around Rosemead, or another location such as Santa Ana or Pomona, CA, you will support all 50,000 square miles of Edison’s territory and there is a possibility for you to co-locate with your client at any one of the many field locations within this territory.
This position may also require you to support additional Edison workgroups, depending on future demand.

Leading competitive solicitations including job walks, bid evaluation, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract development to drive value and ensure appropriate risk mitigation.
Maintaining an understanding of market trends and opportunities.
Partnering with suppliers to ensure adherence to Edison's Supplier Diversity goals.
Supporting the development and implementation of business processes to meet company, department, and business unit objectives.
Implementing supplier performance goals related to cost, quality, and service.
Qualifications The essentials Seven (7) years of combined experience in a procurement, contract management, strategic sourcing, market research, cost analysis, contract drafting, supply chain optimization, contractor performance or negotiation function.
The preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, group facilitation and negotiations.
Excellent analytical skills with an established ability to scrutinize complex data to make decisions and clearly support those decisions with objective rationale.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Proficiency transacting in our SAP business platform including Ariba Sourcing Pro and Ariba Contracts Pro.
Experience leading the competitive proposal process (RFx).
Experience with procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.
Experience with service related contracts including fixed price, fixed unit price, time and material contracts.
Experience managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
Ability to apply principles of financial analysis.
Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
You must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, and the ability to effectively manage stress.
Negotiation and authoring of complex service contracts including EPC and Long Term Service Agreements.
You should know This position’s work mode is hybrid.
The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.
