This is a bargain basement price for a WORKING motor that ONLY needs a new ram to lift and tilt the motor.
I took it to Boat Specialists in Ventura and they indicated that it would cost about $2000 to replace the RAM unit that lifts a lowers the motor.
If you do it yourself you would have a good working 20 hp motor for only $800!
It worked well for us last fall off of Santa Cruz Island, though it did hesitate slightly coming off idle.
Because it would cost $$ for me to have it fixed, I decided to buy a new 20 hp.
The mechanic says replacing the ram unit ( up and down) is easy.
It is off my boat and currently on a stand at the front Service area at Boat Specialist in Ventura.
It can be seen there.
I think you will be surprised by the condition .
The Boat in the picture is not included.
