As a *Collison* *Refinish Paint Technical Service Rep.
* you will be instrumental in providing customer support to automotive collision repair shop customers as well as distribution partners to grow our market share sustainably.
You will be responsible for the technical success of BASF’s automotive refinish products in *the Oxnard, CA Market*.
Focusing on high quality customer service standards at some of the largest Body Shop organizations in the market through process development, correct application of products, conducting product demonstrations to show value-add, and assisting the sales team with converting new business.
_*As a Technical Service Specialist, you create chemistry by…*_ * Providing technical assistance and training our customer base and prospects to maintain and gain market share in the *Oxnard, CA* *Market.
* * Working with your BASF colleagues in the region to accomplish regional sales objectives by training on our products, demoing new product lines and assisting the team in any customer requests.
* Making process improvement recommendations within Body Shops.
* Helping end users and/or distribution partners be more proficient in product application, selling and implementing new products and generating a positive experience with BASF branded products * Working and staying up to date on any product developments and technology to elevate your professional experience through training and reaching out to marketing, training and internal team members while adding value to our customers.
* Communicating findings or any customer related activities to BASF colleagues using internal CRM or communication channels.
* Assuming responsibility and leadership for all technical aspects of the application and usage of our product portfolio (body shop processes regarding Automotive Coatings, product portfolio knowledge & application, product training and recommendations for your assigned territory or customer base).
* Working closely with the sales team to make sure our distribution partners are properly trained and can effectively sell and position our product and solution offerings against competitive product lines.
In addition, you will work with the Business Development and Sales team to ensure identified Body Shop KPI’s are achieved.
Regular interaction with Marketing team, Training Department, Account Representatives, Business Development manager, Color specialists, Strategic Account Managers, is imperative.
*Qualifications* * High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
* Understanding Body Shop workflow.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience of collision refinish industry experience or as a Body Shop Painter.
* Strong trouble shooting and resolution experience with paint and coating issues that take place in the body shop; offering solutions and sharing best practices with body shop professionals.
* Familiar with wet on wet applications/technology.
* Understanding of competitive refinish (paint/coating) products and tools.
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Comfortable using MS Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel) is preferred.
* Familiar with Salesforce.
com or other CRM experience is preferred.
* Ability to travel travel 50% within your territory; company car is provided.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $85,000.
