Compensation: $98,832 - $120,000 with a rich benefits package that includes profit-sharing.
Job Description Summary The Senior Account Manager, Commercial Insurance reports to the Senior Director of Account Management.
The Senior Account Manager, Commercial Insurance is a key part of a company’s account management team whose job includes developing relationships with clients to round out accounts and to retain business.
The senior role comes with the responsibility of managing a book of business and mentoring others.
Senior Account Manager will manage the proper flow and support of property/casualty insurance business quotes and submissions to carriers.
The Position provides technical and communications support to the Sales Executives responsible for selling commercial lines products.
Qualifications BA/BS degree (or advanced insurance designation) and a minimum five (5) to seven (7) years’ direct experience in working with complex property and casualty insurance sales and support, preferred.
Active California and/or Arizona Property and Casualty licenses, required.
Advanced knowledge of types of coverage, commercial lines markets, and insurer relationships.
Working knowledge of commercial lines insurance within Agricultural industry a plus.
Ability to review and compare policy forms, exclusions and endorsements.
Possess a broad knowledge of common forms, exclusions, endorsements.
Thorough working knowledge of property/casualty and workers' compensation rating, including retrospective and experience modification calculations.
Advanced working knowledge of carrier underwriting strategies & processes.
Broad and effective negotiation skills in working with carriers to develop the best terms, conditions, coverages, and pricing.
Ability to act or work as a broker with complex accounts.
Strong computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to use agency management system (Applied Epic).
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and in writing).
Acute attention to detail and process organizational skills.
Information gathering skills — observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Duties And Responsibilities Account Management Interface with customers/prospective customers, carrier representatives, and field production staff in order to ensure that all receive or deliver necessary information in a complete and timely manner to ensure successful sales performance.
Manage and provide technical services and expertise for property and casualty insurance clients, including advising clients of coverage enhancements, exposures, and deductible options that may apply.
Develop and manage a large part of the client relationship by being a technical expert.
Accompany Sales Executive in client-facing meetings, gathering information, presentations, proposals, and stewardship reports.
Answer customer questions and provide consultation as required.
Process daily work assignments (including delegating task work to Account Manager I).
Work with Accounting Specialist to maintain accounts receivables.
Produce timely and accurate invoicing and follow-up of agency-billed premiums.
Document (according to the company’s stated business rules and best practices) client interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
Manage key processes and internal activities that result in our ability to deliver on client-facing needs.
Collaborate with internal departments on client needs to provide accurate client deliverables.
Maintain client and policy information within the Epic Agency Management System.
Adhere to agency best practices and workflows in all aspects of job duties.
New Business & Renewal Management Collaborate with client and Sales Executive to gather and complete accurate client details for submissions to the insurance carriers, including but not limited to, compiling COPE Information (Construction, Occupancy, Protections, and Exposures), Narratives, Loss Runs, Surveys, Claims Analysis, and identification of any other operational exposures.
Prepare submissions, including Applications and workbooks for marketing, and strategize with Sales Executive to determine marketing approach to the carriers.
Participate in Huddle process with sales and executive team on business opportunities or renewals.
Negotiate with carriers to ensure that our members and clients receive the best terms, conditions, and pricing.
Create form, coverage, and terms comparisons.
Create and/or present client proposals with the Sales Executive.
Lead preparation of binders and/or policies for delivery to clients.
Review existing accounts to determine gaps in coverages, increase in limits, and recommendations for additional lines of insurance.
Actively respond to client inquiries and requests including quotes, changes to existing coverage and policies, and complete changes/requests within best practice standards.
Document all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers within best practice standards.
Work with Senior Director of Commercial Lines and Sales Executive in completion and presentation of Stewardship Reports.
Mentorship Serve as a subject matter expert and assist in the mentoring and training of Commercial Insurance Account Managers, providing constructive feedback and motivating support.
Contribute to the development/refining of work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Distribute work assignments to team members during high volume periods.

Maintain a valid California and Arizona Property and Casualty License.
