*Essential Job Functions:*
Major tasks and other key responsibilities include:
· Accurately follow directions on batch sheets.
· Accurately and thoroughly record required information on batch sheets.
· Dispense and weigh chemicals into mixing pots to make batches.
· Pack chemical products from mixing pots into 55-gal drums, 5-gal pails, 1-gal pails, and smaller containers.
· Maintain/use raw materials inventory on a “first-in, first-out” basis.
· Print product labels with a computer and label product containers.
· Operate a coating machine that produces vinyl used in medical devices.
· Responsible for overseeing in-line QC inspection.
· Understand the hazards of chemicals through company-provided training and read MSDSs and labels.
· Keep the production area neat and uncluttered.
· Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.
g.
, gloves, safely glasses or goggles, respirators, aprons, coveralls) and follow safety procedures and rules.
· Report safety concerns immediately to your supervisor, the Plant Manager or Safety Committee Member.
· Strive for continuous improvement.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
*Required Skills*
* Must have the ability to operate digital and dial scales.
* Ability to read Hydrometers preferred.
* Ability to read and calibrate pH meters preferred.
* Ability to read and calibrate TDS preferred.
* Understanding of (digital/dial) viscometers preferred.
* Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels.
* Familiarity with the use of fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other necessary warehouse equipment.
*Physical Demands*

* Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
* Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 60 pounds.
* Must be able to bend, squat, walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and repeatedly ascend/descend short flights of stairs/ladders for a full shift.
* Must be able to talk, hear and see with vision abilities including close/near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
* Must wear job-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for entirety of shift.
*Education and Experience Profile*
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Intermediate arithmetic skills to calculate percentages, units of measure, and conversions from one unit to another.
* Experience handling large complex batches of chemicals or raw ingredients and helping to mix them.
* Ability to read and interpret formulas and instructions.
* Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and tools
* Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and quality.
*Work Environment*
The job demands repetitive movements and the ability to lift 60 pounds with or without assistance.
It also requires flexibility to work across multiple shifts and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
To ensure safety, all prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator, and steel-toed shoes must be worn.
Apart from that, the working conditions are typical for a manufacturing environment.
The operation is a large-scale team-oriented setting where good communication skills, positive team-work attitude and good attendance record is crucial to success.
