Project Engineer - Multifamily Housing New Construction
Job Summary
The Project Engineer supports the Construction Project Team with all construction management and related activities throughout the entire project life cycle, from Preconstruction Planning to Project Closeout.
This is an on-site construction associate position located in Camarillo, CA.
The role is designated to assist the Superintendent and project team members in daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and subcontractor communications/coordination.
Education/Certificates:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Valid Driver’s License required.
OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certification preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
FAA Drone Certification a plus.
Experience:
Multi-family construction experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of pre-construction reports, construction documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience in Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and construction management software (Procore) and Dropbox preferred.
Critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Leadership and interpersonal skills combined with strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow complex oral and written instruction.
Ability to be proactive, independent and a self-starter.
Strong dependability, flexibility, and teamwork.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively within the organization.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Reliable transportation for travel to multiple project sites, as needed.
Essential Duties:
Develops complete knowledge and intimate familiarity with all construction documents including but not limited to Drawings, Specifications, Contracts, and Change Orders.
Writes Requests for Information (RFIs) in coordination with Project Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
Processes Submittals, follows through with approvals and distributes to appropriate parties.
Assists with managing Procore Tools including Documents, Drawings, Meetings, Change Events, Photos, etc.
May assist with bidding process, including but not limited to creating bid packages, reviewing bids, creating bid summaries, preliminary Budgets, etc.
Assist with reporting on the project’s performance through a variety of reporting mechanisms, including weekly and monthly reports, progress photos, etc.
Assists with Closeout process, including all documentation.
Completes site / safety orientations with new vendors.
Assists with weekly construction schedule updates.
Handles all project related administrative tasks.
Completes company required training by established deadline.
Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

$72,571.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*.
Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds.
This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
