The proposed technical effort is located on Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) supporting maintenance operations onboard Dolus Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) and within the Unmanned Vessels Operations Center (UOC).
The ideal candidate will have the expertise to work with schematics, engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies with shipboard/shore-based radio and baseband systems.
Perform RF system troubleshooting, for both LOS, BLOS, and SATCOM systems.
This includes Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Automated Identification System (AIS), Global Maritime Distress and Safety (GMDSS), Global-based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Service (GPNTS).
Perform troubleshooting/configuration of connected IP system components, to include routers, switches, terminal computers, and related cryptographic units for shipboard operations.
Review engineering drawings for system component installation efforts.
Perform periodic inventory to include locating and identifying equipment, reconciliation of equipment discrepancies within inventory.
Assist in packing and unpacking of electronic equipment for shipping and the accounting of received equipment.
Understand and perform system operation/power up/power down of facility power systems, including IP Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), transformers, and power panels.
Perform power down/power up of environmental systems, include HVAC components required for facility operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of experience working with engineering drawings and troubleshooting communications and network systems under test and repair.
4+ years of specific experience with electronics component/system fabrication and repair
4+ years of experience in the fabrication of MIL-SPEC multi-pin connectors, single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic connectors, ethernet connectors
Demonstrated ability to perform equipment mounting and cable routing within enclosed shelters/racks in both a production and RDTE environment.
Must be capable of devising alternatives when design drawings are in conflict with component mounting realization
Proof of supporting technical schools, whether military or civilian highly desired.
