Construction Superintendent

About the Job: Hartigan/Foley, Inc.
is a full-service general contractor specializing in commercial construction exclusively in the private sector.
With a focus on high-end custom residential, new commercial construction, private schools, and industrial/commercial, we operate throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
We are currently seeking a highly experienced individual to take on the role of Construction Project Supervisor.
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspect of assigned construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of construction superintendent experience, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate a track record of delivering high-quality projects on time.
Job Responsibilities: * Effectively manage subcontractors by closely monitoring performance and addressing any issues that arise.
* Maintain and update project schedules using Smartsheet or a similar program.
* Ensure adherence to construction budgets by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances, implementing corrective actions, and managing RFIs.
* Achieve construction project goals by establishing and enforcing construction safety standards and protocols, coordinating staff and subcontractors, resolving problems, and assisting with change orders.
* Foster a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and conducting weekly safety meetings.
* Stay up to date with emerging construction practices and standards to continually enhance job knowledge.
Skills/Qualifications: * Experience in subcontractor supervision, quality management, profitability management, efficient delegation, ADA requirements, attention to detail, and a strong focus on quality.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information.
* Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and relationship building.
Requirements: To be considered for this position, please ensure that you meet the following requirements: * PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN HIGH-END RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION IS ESSENTIAL.
* 7 + years of experience supervising tenant improvement and ground-up commercial and residential construction projects.
* Any OSHA certifications and/or first aid and CPR training certifications are a plus but not required.
Training will be provided in these areas upon hiring.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Procore, and Smartsheet.
* Familiarity with RFI’s, Daily Reports, Submittals, and other construction-related documentation.
* Strong understanding of all construction phases, from grading to interior finishes.
* Ability to perform quantity surveys from plans a plus, along with an understanding of basic estimating formats and cost centers.
* Applicants must be located in Ventura or Santa Barbara Counties and willing to commute to various job sites within these counties.
